Roger Greenhalgh

Roger Malcolm Greenhalgh (6 February 1941 – 6 October 2023) was a British surgeon, researcher and educator best known for his contributions to the field of vascular surgery. He was emeritus Professor of Surgery at Imperial College London in London, England and Head of the Imperial College Vascular Surgery Research Group at the time of his death.

Greenhalgh was also the founder and chair of the Charing Cross Symposium between 1978 and 2023. He played a significant role in the formation of the European Society for Vascular Surgery, and is credited with being an early adopter of the concept of large-scale, randomised clinical trials, helping to establish them as a means for evaluating surgical techniques.
