Widjojo Nitisastro

He joined the Indonesian Student Army during the Indonesian National Revolution and fought in Surabaya. After the end of the revolution, he taught at a junior high school, before, attending and later graduating from the University of Indonesia. He would go on to become a professor at the university.
In the late 1960s, after the fall of President Sukarno, he became one of Indonesia's most important economic policy-makers under the New Order regime of President Suharto. He was generally considered to be the foremost member of the well-known 'Berkeley Mafia' group of economists. Provided by Wikipedia
